Dr. Sametta Hill holds a doctoral degree from Argosy University in Marriage and Family Therapy. She received her master’s degree from Bethel Seminary in Marriage and Family Therapy. She has worked in the Minnesota Department of Human Services for over 14 years, serving children, adolescents, adults and families from all socioeconomic backgrounds in the areas of economic assistance, child protection, crisis responder and juvenile corrections. She has years of clinical experience working with children, adolescents and adults with a wide range of mental health concerns and dual diagnoses.
Sametta believes life is a marathon that we all participate in either willingly or unwillingly. She understands that during this life marathon people have experiences that make managing life, relationships or emotions difficult. What she has come to learn is when people seek therapy they are usually seeking a way to get more of what they want and less of what they do not want. What she has also come to learn is that change occurs when people have become uncomfortable with their current way of being in the world. This uncomfortableness may be how a person feels about their self, their relationships, how one perceives life and the choices made in life. She believes people seek therapy when they are in need of support because things have become hard to manage on their own. She has a unique ability in helping people heal from the inside out and she believes this is how healing and growth takes place.
