About John Fischer
John holds a master’s degree in professional counseling from Marquette University in Milwaukee Wisconsin. He is an active member of the NBCC (national board of certified licensed professional counselors) in the state of Wisconsin and has spent the past 13 years working for a national nonprofit behavioral health organization. John also has previous experience providing care in an acute residential program that specializes in serving adults from all over the country with depression and anxiety related disorders.
John is passionate about connecting with people from all walks of life and loves learning about the unique experiences and perspectives that people have. John believes that the cornerstone of effective therapy begins with an authentic and egalitarian connection between therapist and client.
John’s clinical approach is steeped in the training and experience he has providing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) to individuals, groups, and families. He also integrates a strength-based approach to tap into client’s inherent abilities and resourcefulness, family systems approach for couples and families and uses a mindful based approach to help clients realize the healing power of being present, aware, and non-judgmental.
In his spare time John loves spending time with his wife, three children and golden retriever. John is an avid runner, humble yogi, aspiring Spanish speaker and loves to travel and hear about other’s travel experiences, especially over coffee.

John is currently Out Of Network (Private Pay) in WI. Ask about receiving a Superbill for you to submit to your insurance.
