About Courtney Setzer, BS (Intern)
Does life sometimes feel hectic and overwhelming? On top of daily responsibilities, most of us have relationship challenges, traumatic events, health diagnoses, and other unique stressors that can make it challenging to be our best selves. My goal is to help you build coping skills and break negative patterns to live to your highest potential.
Courtney Setzer is originally from Virginia Beach, VA, but is currently located in Florence, SC. She obtained her Bachelor of Science in human services with a minor in psychology from Old Dominion University in 2016. She is an intern pursuing her Master of Science in clinical mental health counseling at Walden University, specializing in trauma and crisis counseling. Her career goals are driven by a passion for making a difference in the lives of others.
In a previous role, Courtney conducted in-home counseling with clients diagnosed with depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder, and schizophrenia. Her time working closely with a variety of non-profits provided valuable insight into the challenges of domestic violence, homelessness, and drug addiction. She has also spent time as an intake coordinator for mental health services, so she understands the importance of having a therapist that matches your specific needs.
