Learn more about therapy with me!

Many people come to therapy feeling weighed down by past trauma, struggling with relationships, doubting their confidence, or feeling lost in life transitions and work-life balance. If this resonates with you, know that you don’t have to face these challenges alone. I strive to create a safe and supportive space where you can feel heard, understood, and empowered to explore new possibilities for healing and growth.

I draw from a variety of approaches—such as CBT, narrative therapy, mindfulness, EMDR, person-centered therapy, and Gestalt—but I believe therapy should be as unique as you are. Every person’s story is different, and together we’ll find the strategies and tools that best fit your needs and goals.

Outside of therapy, I have a deep love for animals and the comfort they can bring, which inspires my interest in the emotional support they provide. In my own life, I find balance through writing fiction, yoga, nature, video games, and crafting—all things that remind me of the importance of creativity, play, and self-care.

About Courtney Setzer, BS (Intern)

Courtney Setzer is originally from Virginia Beach, VA, but is currently located in Florence, SC. She obtained her Bachelor of Science in human services with a minor in psychology from Old Dominion University in 2016. She is an intern pursuing her Master of Science in clinical mental health counseling at Walden University, specializing in trauma and crisis counseling. Her career goals are driven by a passion for making a difference in the lives of others.

In a previous role, Courtney conducted in-home counseling with clients diagnosed with depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder, and schizophrenia. Her time working closely with a variety of non-profits provided valuable insight into the challenges of domestic violence, homelessness, and drug addiction. She has also spent time as an intake coordinator for mental health services, so she understands the importance of having a therapist that matches your specific needs.
