Learn more about therapy with me!

If you find yourself feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected from others—and from yourself—you are not alone. Perhaps you’ve felt uneasy, tense, or afraid, with a sense that there’s more to life but that you’ve lost sight of your purpose. Trauma, in particular, can leave both emotional and physical imprints on our bodies, manifesting as chronic tension, anxiety, or even feelings of disconnection. I understand how life’s challenges, particularly trauma, can cloud our ability to see our true path, but within each of us lies a profound purpose, waiting to be discovered and embraced.

Through nurturing resilience, cultivating mindfulness, and integrating therapeutic techniques such as biofeedback and trauma-informed approaches, I offer a space where you can reconnect with your inner self and explore your journey of self-discovery. Working with children, teens, adults, and families, I am here to help you process trauma, develop healthy coping strategies, and reconnect with your true calling. If you’re ready to begin this journey, I am here to walk alongside you every step of the way.

About Dr. Cristy Russo, PhD

Dr. Cristy Russo is a licensed clinical neuropsychologist in the states of Kansas & Florida. She’s also a part of PsyPact, a telehealth compact where she can see clients in over 27+ states!

With a deep commitment to holistic healing, Dr. Russo draws upon her expertise in neuroscience, psychology, sound therapy, hypnotherapy, biofeedback, and yoga to guide individuals through transformative journeys of self-discovery and growth. Each person’s path is unique, and she approaches every journey with reverence and respect. Whether you’re seeking to heal from past experiences, gain clarity in your relationships, career, or parenting, or embark on a new chapter of personal growth, Dr. Russo offers compassionate guidance as you move toward your highest potential.

A significant part of her work involves helping individuals understand and heal from trauma, particularly how trauma can manifest physically in the body. The impact of trauma is often deeply embedded, not just emotionally but physiologically, affecting everything from our nervous system to how we interact with the world. She brings together her training in neuropsychology, biofeedback, and sound therapy to help individuals process and release these physical and emotional burdens. By addressing the mind-body connection, she supports people of all ages—including children, teens, adults, and families—on their journey toward healing.

At the heart of her approach is a belief in compassionate care that honors the unique strengths of each person. Her mission is to help uncover the underlying factors contributing to cognitive, emotional, social, or behavioral challenges, and together, develop customized solutions that align with your needs. She is dedicated to making quality care accessible and tailored to meet you where you are, ensuring that the process feels both supportive and personal.

A deep passion for collaboration between families, educators, and providers inspired the creation of Pawsitive Abilities Wellness Society (PAWS), a nonprofit dedicated to promoting social, emotional, and educational well-being. One of her most rewarding projects has been working with schools to support students. The pilot program in Osceola County, Florida, was the beginning of the EAD Osceola initiative, a program that started with three therapy dogs in three schools and has since grown into a county-wide program. Now, multiple therapy dogs are helping students across the region, enhancing emotional regulation, building social skills, and supporting academic performance. These therapy dogs have become a cherished part of many school communities, creating environments where students can feel safe, supported, and empowered.

Her work with PAWS also extends beyond schools, providing service and therapy dogs to veterans, first responders, and individuals with diverse abilities. These dogs offer emotional support, independence, and companionship, creating powerful partnerships that foster resilience and empowerment. She is deeply passionate about the transformative impact of these relationships, as they touch the lives of so many individuals and communities.

In addition to her clinical practice, she is also honored to serve as a Clinical Assistant Professor at UCF College of Medicine and University of Alabama’s Heersink School of Medicine, staying connected with the latest advancements in neuropsychology and therapeutic practices.
