Kasey Patterson is an Associate Professional Counselor (APC) in Georgia and graduated with her Masters of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from University of the Cumberlands in Kentucky. During her graduate training, she primarily worked in clinical settings with children ages 4 and up, adolescents, families, and couples. Kasey now works with adult individuals and couples experiencing difficulties related to anxiety, relational distress, and patterns of emotional reactivity. Many of Kasey’s clients report feeling stuck in recurring cycles—such as conflict, withdrawal, or self-doubt—and seek to better understand the underlying mechanisms driving these experiences.
Kasey’s clinical approach integrates Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and attachment-based frameworks. This integrative model supports clients in identifying core emotional experiences, understanding attachment needs, and developing greater psychological flexibility. Kasey works with clients to increase awareness of internal processes, reduce experiential avoidance, and build more adaptive ways of responding to emotional and relational triggers.
Kasey’s work with individuals integrates attachment-based approaches and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to support deeper understanding of emotional and relational patterns. Kasey helps clients explore how early attachment experiences shape current responses to distress, relationships, and self-perception. Through an ACT framework, clients develop increased psychological flexibility by learning to observe internal experiences without over-identifying with them, reduce experiential avoidance, and engage in values-based action. In working with couples, Kasey utilizes EFT to help partners identify negative interaction cycles, access primary emotions, and strengthen secure attachment. Kasey also incorporates principles from the Gottman Method to support couples in improving communication, increasing conflict management skills, and strengthening relational stability. This includes identifying maladaptive interaction patterns, enhancing emotional attunement, and building skills that promote trust, respect, and long-term relationship satisfaction.
Kasey emphasizes the importance of a strong therapeutic alliance and strives to create a space that is both supportive and appropriately challenging. Treatment is collaborative and goal-oriented, with a focus on fostering emotional regulation, improving communication patterns, and promoting lasting change in both intrapersonal and interpersonal functioning. Kasey is committed to helping clients develop a more cohesive sense of self, navigate relationships with greater clarity and security, and move toward a life that is aligned with their values.
