Learn more about therapy with me!
Percy’s primary goal in therapy is to ensure that each client is the author of their own journey. Having a background in the arts has led Percy to approach therapy from a creative perspective, which is why he believes in nurturing freedom of expression to ensure clients can enjoy a safe, open-minded environment. He may sometimes use metaphors or suggest creative activities to process trauma.
In his spare time, Percy is an avid fan of games and role-playing. He is also a proud father of two cats and enjoys reading and writing.
About Percy Smith, BS (Intern)
Percy Smith currently resides in Denver, Colorado and completed his B.S. in Liberal Arts at Arizona State University. Wondering how he could bridge his passion for the arts with mental health, Percy decided to pursue a career in clinical mental health counseling. He enjoys mixing therapeutic modalities with his background in storytelling to aid his clients in realizing their personal narratives. He attends Adams State University and will graduate with a M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in the spring of 2026.
With a humanistic and existential orientation, Percy is happy to experiment in finding the best approach for each client. Percy prefers to avoid giving advice to clients and instead takes a collaborative approach to problem-solving. He strives to employ an integrative perspective that centers the client and their unique needs. He is passionate about helping people from diverse backgrounds, including different cultures and across the lifespan from adolescence to old age.
Percy is comfortable working with adolescents and adults with higher emotional needs, including those who might have reservations about seeking therapy. He has experience in humanitarian aid and nonprofits that work to end homelessness, provide resources to orphanages, and connect communities with clean water resources. Percy loves teaching diverse populations how to access their creative potential and forge new relationships to mental wellness.
