Voyage’s Bold Journey Series Feature

In my recent feature on Voyage’s Bold Journey series, I shared the story of how I started an online, multi-state group practice—something I never imagined doing when I first entered the field of psychology. Imposter syndrome was a big hurdle, with that voice constantly asking, “Who do you think you are?” But I soon realized that nearly everyone, even those who seemed to have it all together, struggles with those same feelings.
Starting my practice was daunting, especially with the logistics of telehealth and multi-state licensing. However, shifting my mindset from “What if I fail?” to “What if I help even one person?” made all the difference. With each small step—building a website, reaching out to therapists, diving into telehealth—my confidence grew. Now, my practice is thriving, but imposter syndrome still occasionally rears its head. The key? I’ve learned to embrace it as part of the process, reminding me that I care deeply about my work.
If you’re struggling with imposter syndrome, just know: You don’t have to feel ready. You just have to take that first step.
A huge thank you to Voyage for the feature and for allowing me to share my story. It’s truly an honor to be part of the Bold Journey series!
