It’s Friday. Your work day is done.

What’s the first thing you do?

Check email? Check Facebook? Call your spouse? Rush home?

STOP!!! 

(CLOSE YOUR EYES AND THINK OF BEING SOMEWHERE PEACEFUL)

1. BREATHE IN SLOWLY FOR 4 SECONDS…

2. HOLD IT FOR 4 SECONDS

3. BLOW IT OUT FOR 4 SECONDS

REPEAT.

 

Allowing your mind and body a break…slowing things down internally:  

cognitively,

physically,

physiologically,

emotionally…

will benefit you right now and for the rest of the night.

I have just began mindfulness and meditation, so it’s difficult for me to do it every day. Sometimes I forget, sometimes I don’t think I have the time, there is always a reason. But I’m trying to do it more often. On this particular Friday, this post reminded me to take time for myself, which was greatly needed! Thank you, Dr. Lisa, for posting this today. Not only did it remind me to do it, but it guided me. I feel much more centered and ready for the weekend. 🙂
