About Erika Davis, LMFT, LSW
Erika Davis is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Licensed Social worker in the state of Minnesota. She has over 15 years of experience working with children and parents that are dealing with stress, anxiety, depression, and various school and family stressors. Erika is passionate about helping children and parents feel safe and heard as they learn, problem-solve, and find new ways of thinking and feeling.
Erika brings warmth, genuineness, and compassion to the therapeutic relationship. She is open-minded, positive, and collaborative in her approach. Erika believes everyone has their own strengths and ideas, but sometimes get stuck and need a safe place to explore opportunities for growth.
Erika enjoys working with all ages, but specializes in children age 6-10. Erika uses play, books, art, and various activities to help kids learn new life skills. She has additional training in Yoga and Mindfulness for kids and likes to incorporate mind body skills into counseling sessions. She has special interest in facilitating groups on coping skills, stress, mindfulness, and growth mindset.
Erika also recently became certified as a Hatha Yoga Teacher! She uses elements of yoga and somatic work inside of her sessions with kids to help them connect big emotions to their bodily sensations (like tummy aches, headaches, and other mood related physical complaints).
Erika enjoys spending time with family, taking walks, baking, reading, and practicing yoga.
