Learn more about therapy with me!

Growing up, I always believed that every single person has a unique and valuable story that deserves to be heard and deeply understood. Within each person there is a beautiful array of experiences, feelings, thoughts, ideas, goals and dreams, encompassing all the ups and downs of life, as well as the intricate details that shape your personal journey.

As a therapist, I feel privileged to be invited into your inner world, witnessing your strength, and I am committed to honoring the depth and significance of what you choose to share. My job is to create a truly safe space where you can feel comfortable being your whole authentic self.

No matter the challenges you may be facing, I am here to provide support and guidance as we navigate through them together in therapy. We can work collaboratively to understand the impact of these challenges on your life and identify skills and coping mechanisms that can aid in your journey.

My approach is rooted in evidence-based practices, drawing from attachment theory, cognitive-behavioral techniques, and mindfulness-based interventions. Whether you’re navigating personal struggles, relationship issues, or life transitions, my goal is to empower you to discover insights, develop resilience, and embark on a path towards positive change.

Why Tehila Zuroff chose to be in the helping profession

Growing up in a household where mental health awareness was highly valued, with my mother and aunts being psychologists, I was naturally exposed to the field from an early age. This upbringing significantly influenced my decision to pursue a career as a therapist.

In addition, my inherent extroverted nature compels me to seek connection and derive energy from interpersonal interactions. I find immense joy in engaging with diverse individuals and gaining insight into their unique life journeys.

The prospect of continuously learning about people’s diverse backgrounds and listening to their stories is something that truly fascinates me. Each person brings their own set of experiences and struggles, and I am genuinely enthusiastic about understanding and assisting them in their healing process.

Becoming a therapist allows me to merge my passion for human connection with my genuine desire to support individuals in their mental well-being. It is a profound privilege to be able to provide a safe and compassionate space for individuals to share their innermost thoughts and emotions, knowing that I can play a role in their healing and growth.

Moreover, witnessing the transformative power of therapy firsthand, as I observed my family members making positive impacts on the lives of their clients, further solidified my conviction to follow this path. The ability to guide individuals toward self-discovery, resilience, and a greater sense of self-awareness is both rewarding and inspiring.

My decision to become a therapist is rooted in a deep appreciation for the human experience, a genuine interest in helping others, and a desire to contribute positively to society’s mental well-being. It is a calling that aligns with my personal values and brings fulfillment to my professional life.

Tehila Zuroff’s experience working with the Jewish community

As an Orthodox Jewish woman (Hebrew and English speaking), I have had the privilege of working closely with the Jewish community, and it is a connection that I deeply value. Being part of this community has given me a unique understanding and insight into the experiences, values, and challenges that individuals within the Jewish population may face.

Throughout my professional journey, I have had the opportunity to serve as a dorm counselor, mentor, and camp counselor for individuals with various disabilities within the Jewish community. These experiences have enriched my understanding and comfort in working with individuals from this population.

Having a shared cultural and religious background allows me to establish a sense of rapport and understanding with my Jewish clients. It enables me to appreciate and respect their traditions, beliefs, and values without judgment. This shared connection often helps to create a safe and trusting environment where individuals feel comfortable expressing themselves and discussing topics that are important to them.

Working with the Jewish community has provided me with a deeper insight into the unique challenges and stressors that individuals within this population may encounter. It has given me the opportunity to address mental health concerns while being sensitive to the cultural, religious, and familial dynamics that may be present.

In my interactions with Jewish individuals, I strive to incorporate a culturally sensitive approach that acknowledges and respects their religious observances and traditions. This can include incorporating Jewish values and teachings into therapy, if desired, to provide a holistic and meaningful therapeutic experience.

I am committed to providing a warm and inclusive therapeutic environment that is welcoming to individuals from diverse Jewish backgrounds. I embrace the diversity within the Jewish community and aim to create an atmosphere where individuals feel heard, validated, and supported on their personal journeys toward well-being.

My personal and professional experiences within the Jewish community have shaped my ability to connect with and serve individuals from this population. I bring a culturally sensitive approach, combined with a deep understanding and respect for Jewish traditions and values, to provide a supportive and effective therapeutic experience for those I have the privilege of working with.
