Tinesha Croom – LPC counseling Intern:

HeadshotTinesha Croom received her B.A. in Criminology from Johnson C. Smith University in Charlotte, NC in May 2009.  She has earned dual M.S. Degrees in Criminal Justice and Psychology in August 2019 from Tiffin University in Tiffin, OH.  She is currently completing a M.S. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Walden University.  She is planning to graduate in Fall 2024.

Throughout her undergraduate and graduate studies, Tinesha has taken extensive courses related to lifespan development and the psychology of personality and behavior.  She has delved into an array of topics, including social dynamics, community engagement, multicultural awareness, advocacy for children and adolescents, substance abuse counseling, group therapy dynamics, family systems, trauma-informed care, blended family dynamics, marriage dynamics, child development, lifestyle adjustments, career development, and parenting strategies. Tinesha is under supervision with Kayce Bragg, LCPC Illinois (license #180.015815).

Samona Garcia – LPC counseling Intern:

Headshot ()Samona Garcia received her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology at Iowa State University and is attending her Master’s program with Grand View University. Samona has a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion certificate, which is an extension of a club that she participated in at Arizona State University. In addition to her dedication to Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, Samona has also invested her time studying different religions, volunteering as a Cultural Ambassador at Iowa State University where she helped other students from different countries adjust to America and spent a portion of her time at Grand Canyon University volunteering to assist the homeless population and elders in her neighborhood. 

Samona has extended her time working with families at Iowa State University by finding a nannying job, which included working with a child on the autistic spectrum, where she learned the ins and outs of what children with autism experience and how it can impact their environment. 

She also spent 3 consecutive years working in different research labs including Network Community Counseling Services, Identity and Behavior and a Communications Lab. Samona often works with teenagers who are classified as one in the area of Special Education or Behavior. Samona under supervision with Kayce Bragg, LCPC Illinois (license #180.015815).
