Alissa Schneider is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of Florida and graduated in 2015 from Olivet Nazarene University in IL with a Master’s degree in Professional and School Counseling. She was previously licensed as a Licensed Professional Counselor in IL, where she worked as a counselor at a Chicagoland high school as well as seeing clients privately in a group practice setting.
Alissa has more recently become known for her exceptional ability to help clients struggling with anxiety and with the emotional impact of chronic illness, particularly autoimmune diseases like MS or Lupus. Life can seem so uncertain at times, especially when you’re dealing with health challenges. When you are dealing with illness, you need someone nonjudgmental in your corner, to be by your side, encourage and empower you. Alissa can relate as she continues to conquer her own physical illness.
Alissa specializes in meeting clients where they are, and she is very knowledgeable about stress reduction techniques such as mindfulness, which can benefit those with anxiety and those struggling with chronic illness. She utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, and faith-based therapy (when requested) to form an individualized and eclectic approach for each of her clients.
Alissa lives in South Florida, where she frequents the beach and enjoys the Florida sunshine. She also enjoys reading books of many different genres, swimming, as well as being a “health nut” by studying the connections between nutrition and mental health.
